Blackfathom Deeps is a dungeon in Ashenvale available to both Alliance and Horde players. It is recommended for groups between levels 20 and 27 and generally takes around 1 hour to complete. In Season of Discovery Classic, Blackfathom Deeps has been reworked into a 10-man raid available starting at level 25 in Phase 1.
Long ago, Blackfathom Deeps was a temple of worship for the Night Elves' goddess, Elune. The Sundering led to its destruction, after which the Twilight's Hammer cult moved in. They now protect a beat of the Old Gods, waiting for it to mature. The dungeon is a sunken temple of Elune found in the Veiled Sea. The deeps consist of a series of watery caverns leading to a temple devoted to the Old Gods.
The entrance to Blackfathom Deeps is in Ashenvale, in the northwest corner of Maestra's Post. Specifically, it is located on the northern coast of the Zoram Strand. Upon reaching the temple entrance, jump into the water and swim west through the tunnel until you reach the instance entrance. Be ready to swim and navigate through twisting corridors to reach your destination.
Once inside, head down the tunnel to an open cavern, and jump over the water using the stones. Falling off requires going back to the beginning, potentially aggroing mobs. After clearing this, the next chamber contains Ghamoo-ra in the center. After killing Ghamoo-ra, there are a few notable areas in the chamber to explore:
To continue, head south and follow the tunnel to a forked section. The tunnel directly ahead leads to Gelihast. After defeating him, head to the next northern tunnel to find Lorgus Jett. Afterward, continue south to progress further into the dungeon.
This tunnel leads to another open cavern. Swim under the ruins to find a stone to summon Baron Aquanis, as well as the boss Old Serra'kis. After completing these encounters, exit the water and clear the ruins above ground, which leads to the main temple and Twilight Lord Kelris. After defeating Kelris, interact with the braziers around the statue in the room's center until all are cleared. The door behind the statue will then open, allowing you to fight the final boss, Aku'mai.
